This month, we’re seeing Project Hail Mary at Reading Cinemas, Newmarket - 7:30 pm session. If you’re keen, book your own ticket online and meet us there. No formal hosting, no reserved block — just a simple get-together at the movies. When booking, we suggest the central section. It will be first-come, first-served, and is open to the general public. 🐻 MARCH DEN NIGHT 🐻 If it’s been a minute since you stepped into the bunker, consider this your nudge. Den Night is calling  Doors open from 9pm with that easy, familiar pub energy. No rush. No fuss. Come early, grab a drink, park yourself with your crew and let the night unfold. Feeling peckish? The kitchen’s open from 5:30pm upstairs, so make an evening of it before drifting down when you’re ready. From 10pm, Davide DC takes command of the decks, dialling up the sound and keeping the floor alive well into the night. No theme. No dress code. No cloak check. Just a proper, old-school Den Night. Turn up as you are. Wear what you like. It’s about bears, mates, music, and that unmistakable feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be. Third Saturday of the month. Same bunker. Fresh chapter. 

🐻 FEBRUARY DEN NIGHT 🐻 If you haven't been for a while, head on back - we'd love to see you. Doors open from 9pm with an easy, chilled pub vibe. Come early, grab a drink, catch up with your mates, and ease into the night at your own pace. If you’re hungry, it’s the perfect excuse to grab a bite upstairs first, then wander down when you’re ready. The kitchen is open from 5:30pm From 10pm, djmikeyb takes over the decks and keeps things moving through the night. No theme. No dress code. No cloak check. Just a standard old fashioned Den Night.  Show up as you are, look how you like, and make the space what it’s always been about: bears, mates, music, and feeling at home in the bunker  The 3rd Saturday of the month that brings us all together again.

Mr Bear Qld 2025 first fundraiser for his title year. Come and support Samson to raise funds for Youth Housing Project and his travel to Mr Australasian Bear competition. $15 entry fee for competitors in the Mario Kart tournament. Spectators are free and can help contribute by buying tickets to enter into the raffles. Get in early on the day as we only have 24 spots to compete in the tournament. 🐻 JANUARY DEN NIGHT 🐻 Ready for a social night out with the Bears? Start upstairs, end up downstairs, and let the Den do what the Den does best… Kick things off with a meal at the Sporties Restaurant from 5:30pm–9:00pm. Grab a table, load up a plate, and fuel up for the fun. From 9:00pm, head downstairs to the Bunker Bar and settle in with the Bears — the vibes are on, the laughs are loud, and the night is just getting started. At 10:00pm, DJ D Bear hits the decks and we turn it up. Expect big tunes, great energy, and plenty of reasons to “just one more song.” Raffles at 12:00am (midnight) — then it’s straight back into it… because we’re partying late.   Tcikets available at the door, so bring your mates, bring your smile, and bring your best “Den Night” energy. 🐾

Notice of Special General Meeting Date: Tuesday 2 December 2025 Time: 7:30pm Venue: Bunker Bar, Sportsman Hotel, 130 Leichhardt Street Spring Hill Purpose: To consider and vote on the following motion: That this meeting expresses a vote of no-confidence in the current Management Committee of Brisbears Social Club and resolves that all committee positions be declared vacant, and that an election for all committee positions be conducted in accordance with the Association's rules. FAQ: Why the Vote of No Confidence Has Been Requested Ahead of the EGM on 2 December, many members have asked what the vote is about. This FAQ provides a simple, clear explanation so everyone has the correct information. Is this personal? No. This is not about people or personalities. We acknowledge and appreciate the effort the committee has put in. The concerns relate to how the club has been operating over the past year. Why is the vote being called? Many members are worried about the overall stability and direction of the club. The main issues: • Money: The bank balance has dropped sharply and the club is close to running out of funds. If things continue without change, the club will be insolvent before the next AGM. • Financial governance: There are major concerns about financial governance and oversight. • Membership: Numbers have halved and event attendance is low. • Operations: Events and general organisation have been inconsistent. Is anyone being accused of wrongdoing? No. This is about performance and stability, not malice or intent. What’s the goal? To reset, rebuild, and return Brisbears to a strong, transparent, and sustainable foundation for the future. This information is being shared so members come to the SGM prepared and informed.

Fair Day 2025 will be held on Sunday 16 November, as the flagship event of the revived Sunshine Coast Pride Festival (14-23 November). It is totally FREE and caters to all ages. Proceedings begin at 10am as we honour the land on which we celebrate, and shortly after we kick off our fantastic entertainment program. Kings Beach Amphitheatre has accessible paths around its perimeter, which allow entry into the carpark (market stall area) and park (entertainment area). SENIOR? There is a dedicated seniors area on the ridge near Princess Ln with seating, shade and a tea/coffee station. Access via the main path and some slightly uneven grassy areas. NEURODIVERGENT? Headspace are providing an area that caters for our neurospicy friends. HEARING IMPAIRED? Auslan interpreters will be translating on stage. SUSTAINABILITY: Unity Water Hydration Station will be on site providing free water refills, please BYO your reusable bottles. This is a “leave no trace” event, let’s minimise single-use plastic, use the correct bins and keep the area as beautiful as when we found it. DOGS: We have been given special permission from the council to have dogs at this event but they MUST be on leash at all times. It is the owner’s responsibility to clean up and dispose of all dog waste.
